
14. Used oils handling fundamentals.
- Waste oils should be primarily subjected to recovery by regeneration, understood as each process, where base
oils can be produced by refining waste oils, and in particular by removing contaminants, oxidisation products and
additives contained in these oils.
- If waste oil regeneration is impossible because of the degree of contamination specified in separate
regulations, the oil should undergo other recovery processes.
- If regeneration or other waste oil recovery processes are impossible, it can be neutralised.
- If the owner of wastes in form of wasted oils produced as a result of business operations conducted, is not
capable of performing these duties individually, these wastes should be passed over to the entity that guarantees
their management in accordance with law.
- It is prohibited to mix waste oils with other hazardous wastes, including those containing PCB when collecting
or storing them,
if the level of specific substances exceeds the values permitted.
- It is prohibited to discharge used oils to water, soil or ground.
