2. How to organise lubricant management in plant?
The Act of the Minister of Chemical Industry of 6 April 1968 regarding guidelines concerning fuel and
lubrication management, obliges the companies (plants) utilising liquid fuels, oils and lubricants, regardless
their organisational structure, to establish a separate organisational unit or appoint a person responsible for
fuel and lubrication management. Nowadays, one can employ professional companies (such as e.g. Ecol) on the
basis of outsourcing.
Relational fuel and lubrication management should be organised in a way ensuring the proper and economic
operation of machinery and equipment.
The principal tasks of fuel and lubrication management include:
- developing and updating fuel and lubrication documentation,
- rational planning of needs, purchase, transport, storage and distribution of kerosene products,
- quality assessment of fuels and lubricants on receipt and in use through laboratory tests,
- company's (plant) equipment and appropriate operation or lubricating equipment and facilities and equipment
for fluid treatment,
- collecting used oils according to established groups, their treatment and re-utilisation or re-sale,
- proper machinery and equipment lubrication,
- on-going analyses of use indicators and indicators regarding the recovery of kerosene products.
In order to elaborate fuel and lubrication documentation, all data should be prepared and identified regarding
required resources and the method of use to minimise the effects of machinery and equipment operation.
Frequently, it is the only basis for establishing the standards of wearing, and changes are possible only based
on the results of conducted operating tests.
Notions related to the introduction of the lubricant management structure in your plant can be entrusted to
the Ecol System software that is our product.
